Thanks mate, that means a lot to me. I'm always happy to take the time to talk to and meet riding communities far and wide!

Hey, Yes i have heard of Ukraine we learnt about it in geology class a few years ago!
In my opinion this is the order…

1) talent
2) the right set up
3) racing experience
4) training & determination
5) rivals
6) terrain
7) luck

My bike doesnt have any special bits on it most of it is stock. Although, i have a 8sp cassette so the deralier stays away from the spokes! The tyres i run are maxxis Highroller and Minions depending on the track. all the suspension is stock aswell, i Run it softer then most people do though.
I ride flat pedals because i think im more confident on them. I also think there more grippy when it comes to side to side movement. That said i've never tried dh with clips. Maybe i'll give it a go one day.

Hey! At the moment i consider it a hobby. I would also call it a passion because I would still ride if i got last at every race. I think next year when im racing almost full time i will think of it as a profession and a job! I'm really not to sure if i'll earn a living in downhill. Its extremely hard to make a living out of downhill at the moment but regardless I'll be racing for as long as i can! I play and follow Autralian rules football. Im not to sure if it gets televised overseas so you might not have heard of it haha

Hey, as i said before always beleive in yourself! apart from that i really dont have many secrets.
Im not at a fitness center at the moment. My training at the moment is all about fitness! Because thats my weak point coming into the season. Its all done on road bikes and cross country bikes.
Id say Fitness is something every rider should work on. Skills come naturally with riding but you can always be fitter to improve your riding.
I do a lot of motocross besides downhill. I've raced motocross since a young age and i think it helps a lot with high speed control.
cheers

The suspension characteristics stay the same under braking on the kona, so it doesnt become rigid. My bike is about 17kg maybe less when i run the air shock in it! Im 65kg and use a 350lb spring with a Vivid, or a 300lb spring in a fox rc4. i think i run 140psi when using the air shock.
Yeah i use a neckbrace, At first it was really uncomfortable but now i can hardly notice it and never go riding without it. I'm not to sure where you can get a Kona jersey from, maybe ask your local Kona dealer. I havent tested any of the 2012 bikes yet. I like the chainstay length on the kona as it is. I think if its too short it will loose the bikes high speed stability.

I never work out how to ride a course when i walk down it. I learn it from riding it mostly! And every time i come into a section i will brake differently, because you never come into a section the same. The only secret i know that works for everybody is to beleive in yourself, always!

I always walk down a new track just to look at the terrain and obstacles etc… When it comes to picking lines i can only do that when im riding the track. usually i can get familier with a track on the first practice day.

Hey buddy, Ive never had a problem with clips because i ride flat pedals. The main thing i struggled in as a beginner, and still do, is the pressure! I get incredibly nervous before a race. I now do a warm up 20 minutes before my run which helps me forget about the pressure before i race.

No i dont find it to hard to compete with other people. Good competition is good for your riding development as it makes you want to go faster. Ive been racing troy for 6 years and i dont think i would be as fast as i am today if it wasnt for him. haha nah i do a bit of study to keep the parents happy! I dont really take part in making bikes yet, hopefully i will have a input in the future though. Cheers.

hey mate.
I use to race motocross when i was a kid and my dreams where to become a pro mx rider. when i was about 9 My brother got into downhill and i tried it aswell. I stopped riding motocross that year to ride all the time and have never looked back! Im in my final year of school this year so i have to study a lot. Thankfully All my training is based around my studies so i make time for both, If i have to sacrifice one or the other riding comes first! This year my plans are to do Mont St Anne and Windham World cup, champery world champs and crankworx. Next year i hope to do all the world cups and some overseas races like the maxxis cups

Haha yeah I watch that video all the time. It looks like im out of control but I remember riding that section and i was in control the whole time! So its pretty coool to see a video of how i actually am riding. A few of my friends like to film me all the time so i always have videos review my riding with.

Hey mate! I remember riding downhill first in 2004 when i was about 9 years old. I was hooked into riding by the end of my first race in 2005! I like riding dh because its such a skillfull sport. Any mistake and it could cost you the win! Oh, and i started downhill because my older brother did it before me. I remember in 2007 when i wass u15 and my time would have won the u19 categroy. That race is when some of the elite riders started congratulating me and that is when i got my first sponsor.
Id like to come to Russia in the next few years. Id like to comke see the snow because it never snows in Australia except for about 3 places.
